TOWER185 celebrates summer – with palm trees, a sustainable lounge and complimentary ice cream
Hello, summer! We’re celebrating the season in style with the TOWER185 Summer Lounge – greener, more comfortable, and more sustainable than ever. Palm trees, oversized beanbags, and four newly designed seating islands by Mannheim-based start-up CITY DECKS transform the forecourt into a vibrant seasonal meeting point for casual breaks and creative conversations.
A fresh space to recharge
A forecourt with atmosphere and a place to pause: the new TOWER185 Summer Lounge invites the community to unwind or meet up outdoors – under palm trees, stretched out on giant beanbags, or gathered around one of the four innovative seating islands from the AUFGETANKT collection by CITY DECKS.
This award-winning urban furniture concept combines minimalist design and sustainability: the elements are made from recycled plastic and feature FSC®-certified wooden surfaces, as well as planters equipped with a built-in water reservoir and solar-powered irrigation system. These smart features make the islands a true sustainability statement – both visually and functionally.
To enhance the experience, the planters are filled with a vibrant selection of hardy perennials – easy to maintain, long-lasting, and full of colour and texture. The TOWER185 Summer Lounge launched in early June and has since been a popular spot for lunch breaks and informal outdoor meet-ups.
A first community highlight followed in late June with the Community Cooldown: the forecourt was buzzing like a city piazza – with an ice cream van, spontaneous chats, and plenty of smiling faces.
The next round is already set: on 19 August, the ice cream van returns. Until then, the TOWER185 Summer Lounge is open daily – ready for everyone who enjoys fresh air and fresh thinking.
